Since 1959, Vancouver Wharves has operated safely on the site owned by BCR Properties.

Servicing the mining, energy, and agricultural resource sectors, Vancouver Wharves handles more than four million tonnes of dry bulk cargo and more than 4 million barrels of liquids annually through Canada’s key western export trade gateway.

Key commodities handled:

  • Export copper concentrates from BC mines
  • Import zinc concentrate for domestic smeltering
  • Formed sulphur bulk exports
  • Agricultural product exports
  • Diesel and Renewable Diesel bulk liquids

The terminal facility also has covered storage for up to 500,000 tonnes of bulk cargo, 180,000 tonnes of sulphur stockpile capacity, and 450,000 barrels of diesel and renewable bio-diesel storage tanks.

Community Investment

Vancouver Wharves has been a longstanding member and contributor to the local community, employing an average of 200 employees, supporting local businesses through procurement of service and community donations, and is a significant property taxpayer for the District of North Vancouver.



Pembina Pipeline Corporation (Pembina) acquired Kinder Morgan Canada Limited in 2019 and assumed the long-term Operating Lease Agreement and ownership of Vancouver Wharves Terminal Assets.
